Validators

How do I find out the Model and Version of my validator?
There is a sticker located on the side cover of the validator. The sticker has the serial number, model, version, and date of manufacture of your validator. In case the eprom has been changed in the validator and the sticker wasn’t updated, on HVX and XE validators; with the power ON, turn all of the dip switches to the OFF position, then turn ON switches (in this order) 5, 4, and 1. The display will flash 3 numbers; this is the version installed in the validator.

Setting up a regular maintenance schedule is recommended. Depending on use, the validator should be cleaned and calibrated every 2-4 months.

** Always turn the power OFF when disconnecting and reconnecting the validator **

The HV series: There are (2) nickel-sized latch studs on the validator, (1) on each side. Loosen those screws and the bill path will hinge open. Using rubbing alcohol and cotton balls/Q-tips, clean the entire bill path, including the (2) silver heads, white nylon rollers, and the sensors. DO NOT CLEAN THE BELTS!! After cleaning, close the bill path and tighten the latch studs back up.

My validator flashes a ½ of a one and a decimal?
The controller has inhibited the validator from accepting any currency. Locate the controller in the machine and retrieve the error from it. Refer to the controller sections in our FAQ’s to determine how to read/acknowledge the error.
