The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is scheduling the release of the new $5 to the
public early 2008.

New Production
On November 5, 2007 Hamilton Manufacturing Corp will start shipping validators
embedded with software v3.00. This announcement applies to both validator models,
XE and STA. Software v3.00 and all proceeding versions will accept the new $5 bill.

Upgrading
Remember, you should upgrade your Hamilton XE validator with a factory trained EPROM which are available through Hamilton or a factory trained service center. STA validators will have to be sent in either to Hamilton or a factory trained service center for upgrading.

Hamilton will not warrant or service validators with non-factory programmed EPROM's. Older version validators, like the HVX, need to be replaced by either the XE or STA with the latest version software to meet Hamilton's standards for bill acceptance.
